My bad

Also, from one art professional to another...you may want to seriously reconsider your price range. You will continue to be overloaded with requests because people know they're getting a steal. You simply won't be able to keep up with the demand. For many of us, 25K-50K is easily farmed in a matter of 1-2 hours. If people want original, highly detailed, full colored pieces of art, I trust they will pay for it. JMHO.

Keep up the good work.

Not trying to nitpick, but then what about the people who don't spend their time farming? I guess we just have to suck it up just to get the money. Whatever.

Awesome pics, btw. I guess I'll contact you sometime when you're not busy so that I can show you my monk and ranger for portraits.
Keep up the fabulous work, and thanks.

Well if she doesnt mind being underpaid, thats fine.

But you should let it be known that these pieces you have shown examples of are the type that range in the $200-300 range if it was commissioned, even if you are only charging very little for it.

Ive done a few commissions for in game gold, and i consider the amount of stuff i get vs the time and effort spent to be non-economical. That being said, i do it cause its fun and interests me.

^^

Not to nitpick or sound rude, but that's life. I wanted Ansel Adams to take the pictures at my wedding, but I had to settle for some other guy. Though, if Ansel wanted to do it for pennies on the dollar, I would be all over it too.

Yeah i know its life, but like I said I'll have to suck it up and go farm or something(I wasn't trying to be rude with that particular phrase, its more the blunt truth). Though it'll take me a lot longer than 1 or 2 hours, I'm quite willing to spend the time to attempt to get pictures of this quality

I would pay for it if it was but there isn't really much you can do with the drawings except put it as your avatar or be really geeky and print it out and put it on your room wall.

I'm surprised someone such as yourself is not already familiar with all the "lucrative" farming methods. Don't want to tread jack, but there's an entire forum here dedicated to farming (green farming, chest running, UW, spider farming, Griffon/Mino farming, etc, etc).

I'm a graphic designer "professionally", but have a strong background in the fine arts as well. None of my stuff is GW related, but I can try to post some things at a later date.

You know exactly what you were doing in you're post. First, you acknowledged the fact people are copying "your idea" to draw people's characters. Second, you made sure to insert the name of your thread's title (shameless plug). Third, you stated that you "only" ever got as much as 5k. Forth, you stated that her work is worth 20K for single and 50k for double. Where do you get off saying how much her work is worth or not worth? That's for her to decide.

I'm sorry people didn't pay you as much for your work, but it doesn't give you the right to post crap like that in her thread. But I commend you on at least making sure to say her work was superb. Covers it up real nicely.

And the bothersome comment...not exactly sure where you're going with that, but it's nice to know what buttons I need to push to make you laugh.

Shallow your pride and move on.

Coin Operated Girl - I'm sorry for clogging up your thread with this nonsense, but I only did it out of respect for your work.

woooow somebody has some rage built up. you seem to fo put more effort in anylising my post, than i did wrighting it. yeah her work is superb! its goddam ace! and i was talking about the usual prices, but this isnt usual work. i was showing the "narmal" standard, and that she could far exceed that. and whay would i plug that thread? its dead. i havnt the energy to keep it going, so why would i plug it?

EDIT: and you think, I think I invented the ide of drawing game characters? that i thort up the whole concept of game art? suuuuuure i started it all, i was the first! sarcasm dosent translate over forums sometimes

seriously COG this stuff is ace i really didnt mean anyhting horroble like this emmber seems to think. im sorry if ive done anything. supetb is the word id use.

also i think COG is tough enough to fend for herself now, you can stop making yourself feel better by making out your her mom or something

and COG that monk youve done is well good its even better than the first examples in this thread

Come on guys, please stop this crap now. Seems you can't even have a decent thread on the GWGuru forums these days without people jumping all over it and arguing.

I agree that COG could charge more for her excellent work as is pretty obvious from the amount of commisions she has taken/delayed that's why I snapped up the opportunity to have one done and I also agree that sarcasm doesn't translate very well on forums/ingame so perhaps we should all think before we type?

guys (and girls)... I could ask 300k for an images yes.. but I have no clue what I should need over a milion k for....... 0.o I'd probable just give anything I don't need away anyways... So with these prices, anyone can get one, and I get no more k's then I could spend :P.. I kinda like it this way. If I wanted to ask real prices I'd be asking real money aswell :P
